De Blois has been noted as an AMerican artists, either being born in Massachusetts and travelling between Boston and Quebec, Canada, although it has been noted of the opposite to be true as well. Either way, the artist was very active in Boston and Quebec, primarily painting landscapes and coastal scenes, usually in oils.
He studied in Europe (circa 1870) under Charles-Francois Daubigny and Vincenzo Marinelli, and some of De Blois' paintings were exhibited in the 1878 Paris Salon.
