Marion Powers was born in London, England to American parents. Her still-lives were intricately detailed and exhibited a myriad of objects, "painted only for the purpose of showing the objects". Powers eventually married the English painter W.A.B Kirkpatrick. They both moved from London to Boston, maintaining a studio in the area. She was a Magazine Illustrator, as well as a painter. In 1906, the pair moved to Waldeboro, Maine, where she resided until she passed.
