Painted and signed by Vincent Stiepevich (1841-1910), the small watercolor portrait portrays a middle-aged man with large mutton cops, staring off poignantly. Encasing this portrait is an intricately engraved gold locket, with an indent on the side of the cover for ease of access and a hoop on the top to connect a chain.
